That looks redone to me. Firewall insulator is ABS plastic. Originals were fiber and did not shine like that. Still, a nice job, but I suspect complete restoration on this truck.
All that hooha and not one simple picture of the warranty plate. Methinks I smell Bull excrement. If it was real he would have known about the warranty tag and included that info in the ad/. IMHO.
The Ranger specific BODY codes stamped on the Warranty Plate are the only way to prove it's real. 1966 Ranger BODY codes are different from 1965.
The seller claiming this has 26,149 actual miles, is either clueless or a liar. The mileage is probably "the 2nd time around."
This truck has had faaar more than just a disc brake upgrade. The engine has been repainted as has the undercarriage and rear axle, shocks have been replaced.
The original air cleaner would be an oil bath, the oil caps were not chromed, the spotlight is aftermarket.
Turbine wheel covers are from a 1968/70 LTD, as is the gas pedal. Dual exhausts have been added. The bed rails were not available until 1968, neither were the bumper guards.
The rear bumper steps are from a 1965/72 Galaxie/LTD station wagon. The original gas cap would have been painted body color. The antenna has been replaced with a "gypo."
Door trim panels are repro's, but is the seat upholstery original or not? The bucket seat outer side mouldings and the upholstery are repro'd, because they're the same as Mustang.
It also appears to have been repainted, as the paint has more "shine" than the 47 year old original acrylic enamel.
And...when Custom Cab door handle guards were factory installed, side mouldings were not. Plus, there would be no Custom Cab nameplates on the doors with door handle guards.
So, the guards were added after the fact...as they too have been repro'd.
I knew 66 came out with power steering.I just bet this ain't stock to go along with all the other modifications.Sure would like to see the data plate! It does look like a nice truck though.
He doesn't necessarily say that it is all original(although he should have said if it wasn't an original ranger), and he says it is showing 26k so that doesn't mean he is saying it only has 26k on it. Honestly, who cares if it's all original? It's a great looking truck, I wish mine looked like it...

It's one of those things... "To each their own?" It's just that some of us really do care... a lot!
