Let me begin by saying this is in the mock up stage and I am only 99% sure it will work; at this point I see no reason why it won't. Second, this is not for the faint of heart and I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you are willing to do some fabrication. Third, I realize some of you like your wing windows; sorry.
After searching and searching I became determined to be the first person to actually do a one piece window on a 67 to 72 F-100. Yes, there are some pics of a window in a door on the internet; as far as I know it was never completed. If you find the pictures of the red door, there are no seals. I don't know, maybe I am wrong, but as far as I can tell it has never been completed. In addition, DO NOT BUY THE ONE PIECE WINDOW KIT FROM VINTAGE GLASS! IT IS TRASH!. With that being said, here is what I have done. I will document everything and lay it out for anyone that wants to try. To make a long story short, I picked up a Vintage glass kit that someone had purchased and decided it was above their level of capability. After looking at the kit it was obvious the seals and window wipes were not going to work. Then it became obvious the channel they provided to do the front window run from top to bottom was not going to work and they only give you half of what you need. What really threw me over the edge was the glass that was HORRIBLY CUT and didn't even match from side to side and was a half inch too short. Regardless, I decided to go my own direction. Basically I found two crappy doors and cut the back channel out of them so I could fab and install it where the forward channel should be all they way to the top. Then I acquired the FORD seal from DC uncut so I could run the seal as ONE seal all the way from front to back. In addition, I found some window swipes and the clips so I could make the correct THICK swipes from front to back. Finally, I made a template and had the glass shop cut me the CORRECT glass. Yes, it is tempered. I have all the things I need to do to finish documented in my little head as far as mounting the fwd channel and reworking the upper hing pocket so stay tuned. It might be a while though; my boys just started baseball. The door you see in the pics is my mock up door. I cut the skin out of it so I could fab everything up. I will then make some templets so I can transfer everything to a good door.
interesting. Personally I like the vent windows but love to see the creativity of people when they go after something they want. There are a lot of people who prefer a 1 piece so you should get lots of interest.

Good luck and I will be watching your progress.
I too like my vent windows, but love to see people better than me at fabrication do their stuff. In short I can not like what you did but totally admire the skill and workmanship you did it with.
I've been following this topic every time it gets brought up. Nobody has shown a finished one piece glass install yet. That I know of. Personally I like my wing windows. But i think the one piece would make your truck stand out just alittle more then it already does. And give that extra little wow factor good work so far f100today can't wait to see the finished doors.
I want more details about the channels and seals. Does it look like you can use the regulators? That mod would really clean up the cab.
Basically there are two different channels in the f100 door. The one that runs along the back and up to and along the horizontal to where the frame for the vent window is. The other channel is the one on the vertical leg of the frame. These channels are different and use different seals. I simply found two doors and removed the back and horizontal channels so I could make the front channel for the one piece window. Since I did that, I could order the seal in bulk that fits the back and horizontal channel and make one continuous FORD seal. Installing the channel in the front is a bit tricky; there are some supports that need to be "modified" in the angled part of the door. I will take pics and show that later. Then the upper hinge pocket needs to be modified as we all know. I am trying to determine "how much" then I will document that as well.
Yes, the stock window regulators will work fine. You just remove the channel from the bottom of the glass then install the channel on the new glass with new window tape.
In my 2007 "Mid Fifty F100 Parts" catalog (800-252-1956) they list a one piece window kit for the 1953-55 F100's. They don't say who the brand is though. If any of you interested maybe they will tell you the brand since we have Bump body style not theirs.
How do you install the window in the channel? Put it in diagonal and straighten once it's in there?
Kinda. The fwd channel will have to more than likely be loose of the lower mount. Not 100% sure yet. I have a feeling it will take two people to set the window. Time will tell.

f100today, After reading your post, I am glad to see you are making some headway. Over the years this subject has been batted around now & again.
The one big concern that I did not read in your post is hinges. To my small knowledge, it is the hinges that have always stopped the vent less window projects.
How do you plan on working around this? Sorry if I missed it.

I have a couple of different ideas. I'm not sure which one or what combination i'm going to use yet. I have to keep structure, strength, as well as ease of installation (fabrication) in mind. Once I nail it down I will document and post it.
