Veteran needs help

Greetings from Michigan. A friend of mine is deeply involved in helping vets. He asked if I knew anyone in Tennessee.. well I know a great bunch I said... and I got this message

ok, a good friend of mine lost her home in a fire friday night in Tazewell, Tenn she is a combat wounded double amputee, i'm really trying with all i have to get her some help so she won't have to go out in the cold and dig thru the rubble, because of her injuries she cannot be exposed to the cold

If you can help call Doug Six 16 2 fifty five 2 eight 95 thanks so much

Who do we have around the Knoxville area?

I think this is probably for real - not a hoax, and we should think about what we can do.

I have posted it on the VETERANS NETWORK thread in General, and am checking on the source.

What can we do, and what might be needed? When trouble comes to a neighbor, we should step up

This is in the TAZEVILLE township, NNE of Knoxville just north of Cherokee Lake.

If this persons home really did burn down four days ago - then they probably need clothing, and danged near everything...

*It ISN'T just a case of "THOW MONEY AT IT"

CANNED goods
Did they lose their vehicles?

We need to look at it and figure out the needs.

Insurance may handle a lot - but not everything, and not for a WHILE. They always drag their heels, don't they?

What is necessary in order to help this person RIGHT now, and what can we or should we volunteer...
*There's gotta be some church groups out around there too

I may not be able to do much - without any wheels under me right now - but I SHO' KNOW HOW to git attention to a thang...

GO VOLS!
