Power steering fluid discolored. I thought I'd drain and replace.
How much fluid do I need? Any advice on drain points or should I just suction it out at the reservoir and live with some of the old oil contaminating the new oil?
I was going to run Mobil Synthetic ATF unless someone has a good reason to run something else.
Thanks for the link. We have a vacuum evac system, I'm not much for using cooking devices. The filtration idea was interesting, but judging by the photos, most of the material collected in the filter was produced during the process of cutting the filter apart. Probably cheaper to just change the oil a couple of times rather than mess around with adding filtration capacity to a tiny hydraulic system.

Thanks partsman: That looks like a better method than syphoning the reservoir- although, I think it could be improved upon.
1. Run longer 3/8 lines so the engine compartment is not sprayed with ATF.
2. Turn the steering box to flush it out.
Finally, I kinda doubt that changing the fluid changed the brake feel as suggested by the video.
This flush method was a good idea. Thanks for passing it on.

You are supposed to put the front tires in the air and turn the steering box to aid in flushing and pumping the brakes helps also. I don't think the gentleman who produced the video had the ability to do that at the time (he's a member here IIRC). The video does give a good, simple procedure to flush the fluid though, which was it's intent.
