power Steering ATF Flush

What are the benifits of the doing this flush and to you leave ATF in it?

New fluid is always good,and Yes,use ATF fluid.

Ok well i just replaced my pump 2 weeks ago and put power steering fluid in it, should i drain it and put ATF in it? what are the advantages of using ATF?

The pump and your hydroboost system is designed to run on ATF. You need to get the correct fluid in there. Follow the flush procedure link above.

I put Mobil1 Syn ATF in mine, and it quieted it down -- I'll bet yours is whining with PS fluid, isn't it?

Not really. But it is sure hard to turn at a stop. Im not sure if thats normal or not but....Im going to flush it out when I get off work and fill it with ATF. Now I feel like a dumb a$$ for not knowing that it takes ATF and not power steering fluid. Those dang guys at the part store screwed me LOL

LOL... I know the feeling. All the fluid requirements are in the owner's manual. The two changes are that they now put 75w-140 in dually rear ends and the front diff, and you can use Mercon V in our transmissions...

powersteering fluid wont mess up the pump and other conponets will it?

im not sure! if it will ruin anything but putting mobile full synthetic made the world of difference! stopped all whining, and much smoother! easy fix thats for sure
