I have a prodigy trailer brake controller that I got second hand a few years ago. I installed with the harness and it has worked well up until recently (even during a cross country move last year). A few weeks ago I had a problem that when I would go to start the Excursion it would be dead, so I would have to get my jump starter out and it would fire right up. One night after the truck had been sitting unused for a couple of days I went out to grab some stuff and noticed that the brake controller LED face was still on all the way as if the truck was running. I unplugged the controller and haven't had any battery problems since then. It just seems to me as though the auto off function has gone kaput. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yep that same exact problem, Prodigy's have a lifetime warranty so I just took mine back and got another one no questions asked.
Even if I'm not the original purchaser? I'll have to look into that.
That would be the only hard part, If you were in good with a auto parts store or someone that sold them you could get another one and put the defective one in the new box and return it..thats what I did..
