Dp tuner install problems
Just finished installing my new f6 dp tuner. Only got a few programs, 80 econo, 60 tow, and drive through.
The truck starts fine and the programs work great.
BUT. The tach and tranny temp gauge stopped working
AND, the glow plug, check engine, and check gauges lights all come on and stay on.
Anyone have experience with this??i

It sounds like you may have a bad connection on the edge of the PCM. I cleaned and cleaned the edge, I tinned the contacts, then I solder-wicked the excess solder off before installing the chip.

Ya, I'm gonna clean it some more, but it sure seemed perfectly clean when I put it in. Looked just like his picture. Copper showing on each strip. I'll try it out this morning.
I was surprised though how I lost a couple of gauges and the truck ran exactly the way it should have

Use your finger nail and see if you can scrape any of the coating off. It will come off like scraping old rubber cement. I know I spent about an hour taking it off before I could really see that I had clean contacts.

Wrong year was entered online and we programmed it for a 2000 and he actually has a 2002. Thankfully he has the F6. New tunes are already done and sent.
This is what we double check first when trouble shooting weird issues after installation. Next step would be to double check the cleaning. So on and so on....

Yup, everything works the way it should now. So my install was good on the first try.
Also got to try out the software as I had to install the new programs to replace the year 2000 ones.
Works awesome now, have been out playing for the last couple hours. Need to go load the trailer up, or offer to tow someone's load around.... just to try it out!!
