Question Quick question - fuel leak

I have the notorious leaky fuel filter restriction sensor.

I bought galvanized pipe plugs to replace the sensor. Should I have bought brass instead or will the galvanized steel be ok?

The steel one you have will work fine. Remember, don't over tighten it.

I'm curious to know if they need to be tefloned. I think that's where someone went wrong with mine cause it was just stuffed with Teflon.

Hope you get it fixed Phil, nothing is not frustrating than fuel leaks.

I think you are supposed to use thread tape, but it has to be rated for diesel service. The typical white stuff doesn't last when used with diesel. I bought a roll of Blue Monster PTFE thread tape.

A lot of people don't know how to use teflon. They just wrap the hell out of it when it should only have just enough to cover the threads.

And most don't know that there is a right and wrong direction to wrap it.

This stuff I bought says to wrap the threads three times, but that seems a bit excessive for 1/8" pipe threads.
