Thought I had my fuel leak solved on my 7.3 . it was filling the valley and leaking pretty good when i would park. Found out my fuel pump was leaking from the weap hole. Replaced the pump and put newlines on it and its still leaking. Not near as badly but it's still a leak. Takes a few days to fill the valley up. Could it be my fuel filter restriction sensor? I noticed where the plastic part is crimped to the metal part it seaps around it. It doesn't drip but just seaps unless it drips while your driving it. I ordered one from diesel o rings. If this doesn't fix it I may just buy a complete fuel bowl from diesel o rings.
Yes, the fuel restriction sensor tends to leak with age. Went through the same thing. Replaced the fuel pump and hoses but still smelled fuel. Turned out to be that sensor.
Hint: Don't over tighten the new sensor as you can crack the housing.
I ended up getting a kit. I don't have the experience or the time to piece it together. The one I went with was very easy to install with excellent step by step instructions and fantastic customer service.
Bottom line: diy is cheaper but wasn't in my comfort zone.
