what ya thinking of doing if ya fix it? new style ford dually fender bed? fifth wheel hauler truck bed?
haven't gotten that far but just off the top of my head I think I just want it back like it was. I'm not crazy about the new fenders and a hauler be4d limits the use for non fifth wheel work.
Glad to hear your wife and you are fine! Sorry to see the truck looking like that but atleast you are able to get back in the truck after something like that.Hope all turns out well!
Wow Stanley, that's quite a hit. Really glad to hear that everyone made it out okay. No excuse for the lady who hit you, but drunk or otherwise it's good to hear she survived it.
Did the cab sustain any damage? I think there's an even chance it'll be totalled out, but of course I'm no insurance adjuster.

Cab is hit just a bit by the bed, I'm no body man but it looks like a repairable dent. I have mixed emotions. Having just put 10 grand into the tranny and engine I suspect it will be a real war recovering that from the insurance company. On the other hand a new truck would be nice.
of course the insurance company, if it's like mine, will offer you a sub-compact like a corolla as rental...
They did, but I told them that having almost been killed by their client while sitting in a DRW F350 that I wasn't having it, and they upgraded me to a full size Ford Tarus.
Not yet. I'm not feeling much love from Geico. My adjuster doesn't call when he says he will. So far every day I call him in the morning and ask for a progress report and he says he will call me in the PM. But, so far he hasn't.
Today the adjuster said he was doubtful that they would be able to repair the truck. So, I went down to get my tuner and other electronics and the Body shop manager tells me he gave the adjuster an estimate 2 days ago, $15,000.
To me that sounds like they should be fixing it but I'm guessing their deal with the body shop calls for an increase if they find more unknown damage. He didn't say that directly but that's the only above board thing that makes sense. Plus, getting the frame measured may cost a lot, maybe more than Geico is willing to pay.
I got a good look today and the rear axle on the passenger side is moved forward on the spring about 10 inches. The adjuster says he needs the frame measured which the manager says is a lot of work since the truck can't be rolled or driven.
So I'm stuck with no truck and my rent up in 9 days. The good news is it's 85 degrees today and sunny. Tomorrow I'm going to the golf course. It will all work out eventually I guess. If or when they give me a decision the rest will be easy. As you can tell patience is not my long suit.
Well that sucks, for 15000 I'd be fixing it, did you explain the add ons you want reimbursement for. I'd have my wife all over that noise. Well you know there's always a low key person and high key in each marriage, my wife would have that adjuster on quaaludes by now.
