Damn Stanley, I am glad you too were able to 'walk away'. I see too many of these to where people do not. That was a heck of an impact. As far as the insurance 'totalling' the truck, if you have receipts for your repairs and upgrades, you should get nearly 100% of your money back! I went through this with a van of my mother's last year. I had just rebuilt the engine and it was totalled 5 months later, mentioned the work done, had the receipts and got nearly every penny back. Good luck buddy!

If it is totaled you can always work out a deal to keep it and start looking for a new to you DWR and put all you goodies into it. A good diesel mechanic could switch out the engine and trans in a 8 hour shift or at least be damn close.

That's good to hear, think you can get our mutual friend to give me a receipt for the tranny work if I need one?

Just heard from my insurance company that the old girl that hit me was charged DWI. She was evidently drunk enough to pass out behind the wheel at 12:30 in the afternoon. When she left the hospital they took her to jail. Now, I'm what's known as a recovering drunk, but I was very seldom drunk at lunch time on a Monday.

Will do. I went and took a close look this morning and it looks repairable to me. I didn't get under but from what I could see the receiver hitch and bed took all the energy. I can't see any signs of frame damage. Of course it may be crooked as heck on the computer. I'm going to have the Fo9rd dealer down here do the repairs. Already discussed my mods with the Body Shop and no problem.

I hope I don't offend anyone but dang don't I despise drunks. I'm not a prude that believes no one should ever take a drink, but some people don't have sense enough to handle their liquor, and should be beaten severely about the head and shoulders for even looking at a bottle.

I have an ex-employee that has been busted for DWI at LEAST 6 times, and that man is still walking/driving the streets. Super nice guy and never in any other trouble, but he can't handle his booze and doesn't have sense enough to stay away from it.

People like the above don't seem to realize (or care) that they are ticking time bombs just waiting to destroy peoples lives.

I'm sure glad you and the missus are ok. How much you want to bet the person that slammed you has been down that DWI road before?
