Hey guys, I am having an issue with my 2003 6.0 around 50mph. I've done a lot of searching but haven't found a solution.
The truck has 98,000, completely stock, and the engine light is not on.
It starts fine and runs fine at low speed and low rpms but when I try to accelerate over 50mph or go up hill it acts like its choked down with no power and blows black smoke but not a lot.
I have pulled the EGR valve, cleaned it, and replaced the O-rings. I also replace both fuel filters. These changes had no effect.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I would check fuel pressure. Make sure it stays above 45lbs. Did you use oem filters?
Welcome aboard. Do you have a boost gauge? If so, what is your max boost?
Also check intercooler boots/connections for cracks/leaks
No boost gauge, I did change the boot at the turbo because the old one had a rip under the clamp. I will check the rest of the connections this weekend. What is the best method to check for leaks, sound?
I performed the pressure test and found no leaks. I figured it would be a long shot but had Oreillys scan the truck and it pulled no codes. It still feels like I'm dragging an anchor going uphill.
AE is the ultimate scantool and is much better than the Scangauge for diagnosis of these motors. The downside is....it's not one you want to use for daily monitoring since it is on a laptop.

I'm also looking for a fuel pressure test gauge setup that has a hose long enough to get the gauge to the windshield, any suggestions?

Those mechanical oil pressure gauges, they work great and may even come with a nice long hose. Mine did and all I needed was the adapter to fit the filter housing.
Was having this same type of issue. I had a faulty EBP sensor. Changed it out and I've tone about 100 miles and so far the issue has been resolved. ScanguageII or something similar would be helpfull for sure.
