I have a E99 F250 7.3 4x4 and all of a sudden my 4x4 and low range lights come on and stay on even though it's in 2wd. And now the OD light it's blinking. Does anyone have any idea what this is? Any help would be appreciated, I'm about 4 hours from home working so I'm hoping it's nothing major.
Thanks
Hopefully Mark K. will chime in, but I think he's going to tell you there's about 50 different trans faults it could be and that you won't find out without a scan tool.
Don't mind me too much, I know the bare minimum about these transmissions.
I just turned the truck off then started it and drove it and the OD light wasn't flashing but the 4x4 lights were still on. Then I turned it off again and restarted it and the OD light and 4x4 light are now off. I don't want to say problem solved because I didn't change anything so I'd still be curious as to what causes the lights to come on.
I know the vss can cause the OD light to blink cause I just changed it not to long ago
after three or four miller lites i'm thinking plug connection? disconnect/reconnect battery terminals? operate OD switch and 4x4 selector switch and see what that gets you?
