Suspension question

So this is my first official post, I previously had a '71 F-250. I have since sold it and acquired a '86 F-150.

Now I'm a novice when it comes to suspension so forgive me in advance if I misidentifying a part.

Anyway I noticed the truck has a slight lean on the rear passenger side. I noticed the end of the leaf spring busted a hole in the bed of the truck and the hook that connects to the shackle is disconnected.

Now my question is how to I fix it. Like I said I'm a novice at this so detail would be great and pics even better.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like you need #19 in the link below IF you have a 2wd. If you have a 4wd it's basically the same except the springs are wider so it takes a little bit different part.

So if I understand correctly, that little "hook" part is supposed to not look like that?

You got it. That little "hook" part is supposed to be closed in, not spread open like it is. I will warn you, these bolts can be rusted and stuck, so get ready for some beating and banging with a hammer.

A jack would be your best freind in this case Lift on the frame(as safely as possible) to relieve the pressure on the springs.

NO. The bumper hitch is not the frame, you never lift a vehicle by the hitch. Frame mounted or otherwise. You need to lift from the frame.

Reason I say that is cause I have a different kind of bumper that is welded to the frame. The hitch and bumper is all one piece connected to the frame.

Looks like the welds broke on the shackle. Do you have a 2-1/2" spring or 3" wide spring?
