I'm not positive about the front leaf springs but i had this very same question answered for the rear springs on my last '51 and I don't think it will matter (if it's the front or rear springs). Here's the post (see link below), hope it helps.

Is that spring only reverse eye on one end? Never seen that before should lower you a little bit. I would put the reverse eye on the shackle end to prevent any chance of binding. Important thing is obviously mount both sides the same.
