Which size leveling kit?

My 2006 F150 Supercab 4x4 is completely stock, and would like to help the stance out a bit.

Ideally I would like the front to sit about 1" lower than the rear when unloaded.

What size leveling kit would be best, 1" or 2"? And what brands of kits have you had good luck with and easy install?

Hey Bud!
I obviously have no first hand experience, but my friend used the readylift brand on his 04 f150 4x4.
I did some googlin' for ya.
Here's the Readylift brand I spoke of.
ReadyLift | 66-2050 | 3.0" Leveling Kit F150 2004 - 2008 / F - 150 4WD 2009 - 2011 / Mark Lt 2005 - 2008

However I came across this thread in my google search. I didnt read past the first page, but they recommend Autospring 2.5"

Best Leveling Kit for 2007 F150 SC - F150online Forums

And in this thread the guys say that 2" is pretty much level with the rear and 2.5" will leave the front slightly higher.

We all are gunna miss you in the older body style of life. I am happy to see it was a new truck and not a wreck. The "Im alive, but I have some news" REALLY threw me off. lol

Thanks for the links. I'll miss the OBS but the new truck is sure nice.

Mine currently sits 3" higher in back but I've learned that the advertised lift height on some kits isn't necessarily true, so hoping to get more info. I'll probably go with a 2" kit. I don't want to go bigger than 32 or 33" tires.

Two inch would leave you either level or slightly high in the rear. I got 2 inches of lift on mine and I am slightly low in the front. But I believe the factory rake on an 04 was greater than an 06. I put 33 in tires on mine, I have been very happy with the choice.

Thanks for the info. I would rather have the front just slightly lower rather than totally level so the rear doesn't look like it sags if I'm hauling/towing.

Like I stated before, stock the rear is 3" higher at the center of the wheel well, full tank of gas. As long as the kits are true to size the 2" should get the front where I want it.

I'd like the same thing as you. I talked to a guy at Rancho regarding their QL loaded front struts. He said he's got them on his own F-150 (FX4) and he got the advertised 2.5" of lift. More than I want, for the same reason you stated. I measured my front and rear tire-to-fender distance and it's exactly 2.5" difference. It may be that a small addition to the rear [block height] will be required. That's what the Rancho guy did.

I had A/S 2" spacers. As bigunit54 says, pretty much level. I switched to the Rancho QL 2", and now the front measure 1/4 - 1/2" low in front.

I like the idea of the A/S kit because it keeps the factory ride quality, and it costs quite a bit less than the Rancho (as much as I'd love to have that).

So it sounds like the A/S kits maybe run a little taller than advertised. Maybe I should go with the 1.5" kit instead. I don't want to raise the rear at all.

I guess im the odd man out here... im running 3inch in the front that completely leveled it out. I have the fire stone ride rite air bags. Id get the day star I beleive inch in a half if you like rake, if not buy the 2.5 and pick up firestones bump stop thing that will help keep it level under load
