Hey guys, noob here. I just picked up an 06 Expy. Looking to spice it up a bit. Wondering what size leveling kit I need to bring the nose up to match the rear. Not looking to have it running down the road with its nose stuck up in the air though... Additionally, what size tires can I safely run other than stock after the front leveling kit is installed. I may look into a set of stock five spoke F150 wheels vs the spilt 5 spoke 17s this beast came with. What kind of options do I have??
If it's a 4X4 you can have your alignment shop adjust the torsion bars for that while they do an alignment. No kit to buy.
The last year with torsion bars was 2002.
I don't know of any kits just for the front end. Daystar and Truxx make spacers that lift the front/rear about 3"/2", essentially leveling the truck while adding a small lift. Rancho makes struts called Quiklift that do the same thing by replacing the whole strut.
As for tire size, I run a 285/70R17 all-terrain on stock rims without any lift and just that makes a big difference in how the truck looks. Most lift kit manufactures have a recommended tire/rim size combo, so check with them if you go that route.
I was not aware of that, my Expedition and Navigator are both pre '02s and I couldn't imagine Ford dropping a well proven suspension system so I did not check my manual. Sorry.
