No I have not pulled that as I have no EGR cooler, I deleted it. I could pop it out and look though.

No reason to pull it if you did a complete delete. I would fill up to minimum line on degas and watch it. See if there is any leaking externally.

Just put a new water pump on less then a thousand miles ago as it was leaking. 40,000 ago it got new victor reintx head gaskets with ARP studs and the heads resurfaced. Could be the t-stat but truck seems to come up to temp ok. Now I do notice that my heater blows cold air when sitting at a light and when I accelerate it warms up but then goes back to cool when back at a light. This just started also.

I kind of edited my comment but since you said victor reinz I will go ahead and keep it.lol. no victor reinz head gaskets are junk to put it bluntly. I would check your coolant pressure and check how much psi is in there under wot.

Bobcat, there are no hurt feelings here. Feel free to say it how you feel. I appreciate the input. I will do that. It seems to old pressure at the cap but I will pressure test it.

Yea wouldnt hurt to check it. That can effect your heating as well, as you described. Anything under 16lbs at wot should be ok. Anything over, well I think you know the answer. Remember cant go wrong with oem gaskets. Low coolant will cause your heater to blow cold as well.

Sounds like it could be a water pump and/or flow problem too. Blown headgaskets will allow the coolant temp to heat up and cool off really fast.

Also, there is a lot of difference between Black Onyx (junk) and Black Diamond headgaskets (both VR gaskets). I still recommend OEM headgaskets.

I would be willing to bet they are black onyx since its been 40k miles ago. But could be wrong. I will never put vr gaskets in mine.lol
