White smoke no coolant loss

Noticed a small amount of white smoke a couple weeks ago. Has gotten worse this week. Mostly seen at idle and not noticed when driving. Smelled the smoke and it just smells like exhaust. No sweet smell some others have mentioned with a coolant leak. Haven't noticed any coolant loss.

Truck had head gaskets, bulletproof EGR cooler, etc about 6K miles ago and has run great ever since the service. Thoughts on where to start? This is my daily driver and I don't have anything else to use. It's really important that I address this issuse. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys and gals.

White smoke all the time or just in the mornings? It's getting cold and the exhaust will smoke (just like gassers) from condensation etc.

Could be a failing injector?

Sounds like a bad injector from your description. Maybe a cracked tip.

Be careful. If it is a cracked tip you could burn down a cylinder or hydro lock.

Thanks Cheezit. What's the best way to test the injectors? Would a power balance test do the trick?

Thanks Benny. Is the procedure for the bubble test in the tech folder?

I think I ended up 3d in the voting. Had a guy with the tow truck that was running away with it. Thanks for the votes!

Thanks everyone for the input. I hope all had a happy Thanksgiving.

i agree with cheezit as well. i'd start from the point of view as a turbo seal leak. injector could be a problem too.

jerry, i'm not saying that ur headgaskets are the main problem, but it could develop into quite an issue later on. i'm just saying, tats all. no offence intended. i've read where the black onyx head gaskets have failed faster than the oem ones. then again, it's how u run ur truck too. i know i know.

this worm just happens to have a dirty mouth. sorry, i'm out of orbit gum. lol.

happy thanksgiving y'all.

A Bubble test is an Injector test

Basicaly Pull Fuel Pump and FICM Fuses open the upper fuel Bowel Crank the truck if you have bubbles the Cylinder compress is Blowing compression into the inject

COMPRESSION BUBBLE TEST
DTS Articles - Compression Bubble Test

this an OK read on it however I dont like the way they single the injectors out if you have 2 bad ones you will miss 1 there way

I would pull all Glow Plug and install them 1 at a time then remove each bad cylinder GP and move on if OK leave it in

However you do it just dont want to confuse 2 bad ones and miss one

You can also take a DVM and Ohm the Inject coils out anything over 4 ohms is bad there are 2 coils per one off and one on coil and should be open circuit to each other as well

If you have AE would do a Power Balance and skip the Bubble test

Seems a turbo seal would make a more blueish smoke with a burning oil smell.
