need help, intermittent stalling
well that didn't last.
didn't make it out of the driveway to plow before it started stalling. Too bad for the truck I no longer care restarted it immediately it sounded like a over cammed big block so I just held the throttle to the floor till it cleared up.
after an hour of this it stopped doing it. I finished plowing my driveways
went out to plow today, more of the same. I noticed that when it coughed and stalled the eot would drop to something other than normal ( you might own a 6oh if you watch deltas more than the road) and the volts would be less than 14.5 which is what it usually is.
thinking it might be in the eot circuit. don't know almost don't care. miss my obs...

Did the problem start just after you replaced the alternator?
Could be a defective alternator.
.
alternator is a year old, my thought is something in the eot circuit is grounding out, either in the sensor or in the wires. going to check before the snow really starts coming down.
You can try and unplug it when it's acting up and see if it smooths out.
The EOT only uses +5v and signal leads.

I did try running with the eot plug off. sgII still registered 190*ish??? the fan was maxed the whole time and I ended up with a sel for over temp engine oil. plugged it back in cleared the code.
checked the sensor prongs to ground, not grounded. checked the wire terminals no resistence to ground on either, and both had 12.5 volts to positive????
to tired to figure this out right now.

well this is new, just shut off no lights no crank no radio nothing. When I wiggled the alternator to battery lights started flickering. Held the wire in a certain position and everything was fine. Electrical taped it ther and its better. Bad connection or wire. Going to a car stereo place to get proper crimped connections see what happens
think I got it! redid the connections on the battery terminal and knock on wood it's been 4 days of flawless running.
don't understand it tho, no corrosion, wasn't really loose, it may not have been the ideal connection but everything was still touching. the no ryhm or reason when it would happen makes me wonder what the deal was. I'll stare at it and ponder when I have nothing else to do.
thanks for the ideas and suggestions to everyone!
