04 Escape airbag light
Just purchased this vehicle about a week and a half ago. Didn't realize the airbag light was not in the dash (I fully believe the dealership pulled it) and had to go back to get that replaced since it is actually illegal to allow a car off the lot without it. The tire tread in the center was also illegally low and then I had a check engine light for a misfiring cylinder.
We got all that squared away, but today the airbag light came on. It isn't a code - the light doesn't flash or pause or anything, it just stays lit up solidly. My research suggests this may be as simple as the wires under the seat (although this isn't a code so I don't know if that applies) to a total system failure. Any idea?
I know next to nothing about cars and the dealership is 45 minutes from my house so I can't just pop over there for a quick fix. I don't really trust them at this point after all the issues we've had, but my husband's F-150 unexpectedly cost us about $1000 as well so I can't just pop my car by my mechanic for kicks and giggles. Fingers crossed this is a minor fix! With my old car dying this past week, all the issues with this one, and then my husband's truck issues, I am really worn out and so is the bank account! Thank you in advance.
