Voltage regulator wire issue

I everyone, I just bought a 1965 f100 about a month ago, I'm having an issue trying to figure out the voltage regulator wire.
To start out, it was originally a 352, been converted to 302
I replaced the coil and points with pertronix ignitor system.
The wire from the voltage regulator "I" terminal (green with red) goes through firewall, the guy before cut the resistor wire that goes to the ignition switch, and I cannot find any info on it. Has anyone run across this, or know how to fix this without replacing the alternator (externally regulated)
Any info would be grateful.

just to clarify, the resistor wire was cut an inch from the firewall connector under the dash, black wire, NOT the pink ignition to coil wire.

The following is the only resistor wire used on these trucks.

COLF-12250-A .. Resistor Wire-Ignition Coil (Motorcraft DY-37) / Obsolete ~ Available from auto parts stores.

61.49" long / Color coded pink / 1.30-1.40 ohms resistance / #20 gauge wire.

All 1960/70 FoMoCo vehicles.

The alternator wiring harness plugs into the voltage regulator. There is no individual wire from the regulator to the ignition switch.

Thanks for the info Bill
The wire I am looking for goes from the Black/Green wire (for the instrument panel) at the back of the ignition switch, on the stud to the yellow/brown wire at the fire wall connector (left rear turn) ,it was a black resistor wire that was cut.

Posting couple links to 65 wiring manual may find helpful?? May have to boost the image up a little in order to read the wire color code chart??

Tracing electrical gremlins can be a major pain in the backside with these vintage trucks so may want to consider buying the electrical wiring diagram. Most of the Ford part supplier's carry them, or purchase directly from the source; Jim Osborn Reproductions for $7. Another option may be the 64-72 Ford truck Master Parts and Accessories catalog on C.D, for around $28, which has lots of info., however, not sure it includes wiring diag., perhaps member can advise?? Oh, by the way, welcome to FTE , post pic's if and when you can, looking forward to your input!!

I have looked into buying a new harness, to eliminate the problems I have run into, but unfortunately they are almost as much as I paid for the truck. I'm pretty good with tracing wire and diagnosing electrical issues (having worked for Ford for the past 10 years) but unfortunately its completely by the diagram with this one since the PO hacked into it. I am going to purchase a Jim Osborn tonight and hopefully it will help out. Thanks for the input Dave. Much Appreciated.

Problem possibly w/ the dash harness, which to my knowledge is not reproduced. With the experience in wiring it's possible to make repairs to the dash harness, I found using plastic ties to keep them separate as I worked on the repairs helped. If the issue is isolated to the alternator harness there's a reproduction alternator harness that runs around $50??? When it came to wrapping large sections of wiring found it best to use non adhesive harness wrap. Out of curiosity did, or does the truck have the 'alt' gauge, or idiot light???

I haven't been able to find dash wiring harness replacement either, but I did find through the diagrams above that the PO had wires crossed at the ignition switch, now just to finish up a couple things and install a electric fuel pump, I hope to have this thing running soon. Thanks for the input.

Mitch.
