need help (again)

can someone tell me what this is? also what it dose? and can i run the carburetor with out it on the intake?




thanks for yalls help

EGR spacer. No point trying to leave it off, since it's already capped at both ports.
Leaving it off will leave a rather large vacuum leak where that hole is on the underside.

the reason im asking if i can leave it off.is cause we have other intake that.might not bolt up to it.

Different intake is another story. Woulda been nice to have that info from the start.....

If the EGR spacer doesn't fit the other intake, then you don't have much choice but to leave it off.

my bad.was doing couple other things and got side tracked.

so it would still have a leak or no?

Too many possible variables, RadioControlGuy85. The EGR adapter served a couple of purposes. Besides allowing the routing of spent exhaust gasses back to the carburetor, under certain controlled conditions, it also served to provide the right height so the carburetor and throttle cable had the correct geometry.

Since we do not know anything about the second manifold, no input can be provided. Post again with photos or at least a description, such as whether it is another stock Motorcraft 1 barrel or an aftermarket 4 barrel...
