You've been so awesome on answering my questions! You really know your stuff!
Anyway, I just want to find out, what is considered a large port intake?
I have C6AE heads and I am looking to purchase an intake with the #s:
C6AE-G on it. Is this a large port? What is the clue? How can I tell which is the large port and the small port intakes?
Well, I'm home now and all my pics are at work but the C6AE-G sounds like an "S" intake with the small ports. Any intake with a C5 or C4 or C3 etc. will be a large port intake but I wouldn't worry about it, small intake with big head is no problem. It actually creates a low pressure zone at the transistion to keep the manifold from puddling out.
I thought you had to run a EGR, have things changed?
Umm, no EGR won't work with those intakes. The stock EGR plate gets it's feed from the little hole in the carb. flange of the later manifolds. Exhaust gas comes up from that hole and goes into the bottom of the EGR plate. Sorry, maybe I didn't explain it right before.
Now I get it. You're right - I checked the picture you gave me. Whole new set of problems. So what year manifold do I need? Obviously one with an EGR hole. Is there a specifice casting number I need to look for?
EUREKA!!! I think I finally got it! So, what I need is ANY manifold (because I can use whatever size with my heads) that has the EGR port in the manifold.
Am I right, or is stupid the only word that describes it...
