Honestly, I read the first few posts several time and would have answered like you did. Maybe he's looking for a poll? If so my answer is no, I haven't had to add any oil between changes.

8×40=320
6×30=180
320 + 180 = 500
500 ÷ 14 gallons = 35.714285
just standard math to find the average....it's probably incorrect though.
