help please

I have a 2004 ford f150 larait and recently i have been having starting issues. When i go to turn the key all i get is one click and thats it. All the lights, radio, air and etc work. It takes several attempts before it starts and then when it starts if i shut it off for 15-20 mins it will fire right back up but when i come home and let it sit for hours i will go right back to the one click and then once again it takes several attempts before it fires up. Please help if anyone has any ideas on what it could be. Battery? starter? starter solenoid?

I think if you hear a click the solenoid is working. How old is the battery? Have you pulled the cables and checked for corrosion? An old trick is to turn on the headlights for a minute before throwing the key. I suspect a dead cell in the battery. I would take it to the auto parts store and have them check the battery/charging system as a first step.

Battery is less then a year old, brought it in to get tested, had very little corrosion on it. Battery tested at 50% but the cranking amps were at 889
