Serpentine Belt

I am going to be picking up a new belt later this afternoon. I have a choice of MasterPro for $17.99, Gates Micro-V AT for $25.99, or the Motorcraft for $53.99. Which would be the best one to get? Also is there anything I should do to the pulleys while the belts off? (Besides spinning them and feeling the bearings)

I always go with good belts & hoses. Motorcraft are good, but I think Gates are just as good. I usually buy Gates.

If you can wait 3-4 days, you can get a Goodyear Gator-belt for about $27. Much better belt all around.

I've always run Gates belts and hoses. No issues with them at all. They never blow out on me, but I visually inspect them often and replace as necessary. Never (knock on wood) had any squealing issues with the Gates belts.

Lots of folks swear by the Gatorback belts. Absolutely no squealing.

Change the idler pulley(s), too. Cheap insurance against getting stranded on the side of the road.

The idler pulley was replaced a few years ago, so I'll leave that in for now. I noticed it does squeal when its humid out in the summer, but I'm fairly sure thats the smog pump. I'll probably go with the Gates one.
