I am a new 2001 Navigator owner, I am a tech for Comcast and I was doing a call at a mechanics shop when I saw it was for sale. It was his and he bought it brand new and has a binder full of all the receipts for all the maintenance he has done to it, so I bought it for $3500. It has 165,000 on it and it is going to be my 3rd car, my question is should I be looking out for any major issues, he already converted the rear air suspension to spring and shocks, I live in Aberdeen, Md and my wife and I where talking about taking it to the outer banks, Nc next month, I know it has been well taken care of, how many miles do the 5.4 normally go for before they die?
Thanks guys and I look forward to getting to know all of you guys better!

Sounds like a good but. I would just review those records to be sure of things like ball joints, tranny oil change intervals, pcv elbow, fuel filter, plugs, etc.
I have a 2000 Expedition Eddie Bauer with 193,000 on it. No issues at all. Original Engine and Transmission. Only replacements has been Alternator at 160,000, Ball Joints at 140,000. Regular fluid changes. I live in Elkton, MD and drive to the Outer Banks and Upper Maine every year loaded with 3 kayaks on the roof. Never worried about it. I'd drive it to California tomorrow (well if we don't get 18" of snow tonight). If it was taken care of you will have no problems. I plan to get at least another 100,000 miles out of mine.
