They changed my tire size to match my 315s and it still reads the same as it did before they did anything. Can I do it myself so it's not reading 65 when I'm running 68?
Use a GPS. My 79 Datsun had NO gauges in it so I bought a $75 Garmin and used the speedometer on it Had it up to 95 twice (once on accident, long story) and it was perfectly accurate. Had someone else driving next to me most of the time and it was never off.
I too have a speedo thats off due to taller tires, I also use a GPS for accurate speed readings. I drive too slow to worry too much about tickets. I am OK with this setup and the odometer difference shouldn't be a big deal, I try to stay ahead on oil changes and such.
I also have an SCT X3 tuner from 5 Star, I haven't rooted around in it much, I just load tunes and go. I don't know if it has the ability to calibrate the speedo on a gasser, I'll have to give Mike at 5 Star a call.
I reprogrammed mine using my NGS, there's a formula you have to use to figure out the correct settings to input. You can only reprogram it up to six times then you have to replace the ABS module.
