Since I sold my sander my *** end has felt very light with the plow on and it is pretty useless unless its in 4x4. I pass by a concrete plant that is near my house every day and I decided to stop in to see if they would sell a chunk that is scrap. Well they ended up giving me this retaining wall block that was casted wrong for free. It weighs 2300lbs and is perfect for traction. This morning I couldn't get out of my driveway in two wheel drive but this afternoon I got out fine.
The truck is squatting a little bit with the plow up it is almost level
Nice. Growing up in NY we used old snow plow wear bars for weight. I kept a 4x4 running across the front of the bed, but always worried I'd slam on the brakes and have one come slicing through the back of the cab.

Ya I would worry about that too. I have 2 5000# starps holding this block in place but if it wants to go I don't think much would stop it
Ya weight makes a big difference.. Only problem is it has to be over 1000 lbs or so..2500 is prob just right with a plow on the front.
Ya my sander was a 1000# empty and it didn't make a huge difference. Once I filled it with 2-3000# of salt it was much better. This weight is perfect though. Traction is amazing. I just drove through my yard with 8" of snow with no issues. Before I wouldn't have made it 10 feet
