GEM Question
First off the truck is a 1997 Expy XLT 2wd 4.6 ltr.. Truck is used to pull my boat since my little YJ wont. Does the GEM controll the radio and CD functions? The radio on cold start up is on but no volume. As the car and radio warms up the volume starts to come on gradually. Now yesterday the CD player shifts through the cd's but won't play them. The radio also has a little pic. of headphones on the display. I thought the rear headphones jack was the problem so I diconnected it but the headphones are still in the display. Is it time for a stereo upgrade or is it controlled by the GEM? The reason I ask is because I've been having alot of electrical gremlins lately and think my GEM or fusebox is going out. Thanks in advance.

Guess It's time for an upgrade, mabee even with a mp3 player. Finally going to move into the new millenium.

I used the thread on how to put a 2DIN radio in. After chopping up the innards of my dash it installed with only minor problems.
