Misfire scanner

What kind of scanner do I need to be able to single out the cylinder causing the misfire. I have access to a code reader but I have looked through the booklet and even the settings on the tool and I see no way of reading the codes while the truck is running. It will only read codes with engine off ignition on. Can someone tell me what I need. Thanks! 2002 f250 5.4

You need a scanner that can read Mode 6 live data for misfires that are not severe enough to set a fault code.

Find someone who works at dealer or someone with a brakeout box to read codes or just pay dealer to read misfires.

An Android smart phone, a $20 BT/OBDII adapter and a $5 app is usually adequate.
