Offy DP 4 BBL throttle options...
Seems like I remember seeing a fella that made another setup with solid linkages, a custom bracket that straddled his valve cover. it had a shaft cradled in some press fit bearings. I do remember that valve cover was custom too. ford blue and black iirc.
anyone have a pic of this or know where to find it?

The Lokar cable has worked on all the carbs. The Lokar bracket that sits on the carb could not be used with the QJ's, and I had to mod the bracket that came oem with the QJ.

Above is the oe QJ throttle bracket.

The photo above shows how I changed the oe bracket and what I ended up with for the Lokar cable.
I also noticed that with the Summit carb the Lokar cable bracket that sits on the toe of the carb kept moving no matter how/where I set the set screw, so I had to mod it, attaching an arm and running it over to another of the carb mounting bolts to hold it.

There are a couple of other aspects to using the Lokar cable, and installing the Offy intake that should be covered:

In the photo above you can see that I took a fender washer and used it as a mount for the cable on the firewall bracket. I also removed the clevis fitting on that end of the cable and put on the oe little plastic holder. In the photo it is the little green guy on the throttle arm. It is a cradle for the ball on the end of the cable. It sits in the throttle arm perfectly, as it is made to.
The other thing that should be mentioned with the install is to use studs, grade 8 or better, antisieze in the head threads, and Mr. gasket #260 gasket.

And then there is the coolant plate, if you're not using the oe exhaust.
If you use 3/8 pipe, you don't need hose bibs on the end, and that will save you $14. Some guys on the forum have made them for members in the past.

Bracket is combo of Ford and GM.
Water plate under carb is from '61 Thunder Chicken to keep the carb from turning into a popsicle.
Cable is a combo '87 Ford cable and Lokar end.
This set up has worked well for five years where the temp gets well below 0 for much of the year.
Initially we modified the stock bracket to use the stock cable with a custom/homemade linkage. We then added a custom/homemade return spring bracket. The stock cable end was interfering with the linkage.
So I bought a 3 foot universal cable, cut the stock bushing from pedal rod fork and installed it on the new cable.
I also bought a universal mount similar to those in this thread. Connected it all and no more binding or fear of the +40 year old cable breaking.
Universal cable.
Custom bracket and return spring.
Universal/Custom bracket with return spring.
I did slip a piece of fuel line over the braided sheath to keep it from rubbing on he valve cover.
I also looped the cable around the heater hoses near the firewall. I might see if there is enough slack to route it around the front.
But so far it works really well and I didn't have to fabricate anything. I wish I had gone this route from the beginning.
If anyone needs the part #'s for the cable or bracket, PM me
Cable was @27.00 bracket was about 13.00

You know what is crazy, is that I know I read this thread when looking for solutions before we modified our stock cable and bracket and the pictures from posts # 10 and 19 did not show up. As a matter of fact I don't think they showed on my screen until after I posted mine. Those pictures show basically the same set up we settled on, except ours are not Lokar.
If interested in the part #'s for the cable and bracket, me know and I'll dig em up.

I think those will work as links to the items. If not, let me know.
We routed the cable in an "S" This picture is not the best, but it loops around/behind the heater hoses.
