Vin location

I am looking for the VIN number on a C550 from 61/62 and there is no tag in the glove box. Where else could I find the VIN?

Top of the frame rail, passenger side, above the front axle, possibly forward a bit.

1948/80: VIN contains 11 digits, not 10. Since this is a Tilt Cab, you omitted the first digit: C

I decoded this VIN in your other thread.

VIN's stamped on frame rails have an asterisk before and after the VIN. This is to prevent thieves from 'doctoring' the VIN
