I had an accident over the weekend, a guy slid into my lane and I put the truck to the ditch trying to avoid hitting him. It blew both sides of the front brake line and the one going to the master cylinder. I go that fixed and it's all been good for a couple of days. Yesterday, the right hand turn signal started going intermittent. Today everything worked briefly then I had nothing. I have no turn signals at all, even inside the cab. I have no brake lights but I do have head lights and running lights and now the ABS light on the dash is blinking. I don't know if the ABS throws codes or not but it blinks 7 times and on the 7th time it stays lit for about 2 seconds then it blinks 7 times again staying lit for 2 seconds. My understanding of electrical is very basic and I've never been really good at tracing those problems. Any ideas where to start would be very helpful. Thank you.
I had a chance to run outside during break and check the fuses. #13 for the stop/hazards was blown, I changed it out but it blew right away didn't even light up an indicator. So I guess somewhere there is a dead short causing this??
I fixed the problem. The wiring harness for the snowplow got cut up in the accident over the weekend. I removed the bad part of the harness and rewired the turn signals. Replaced fuses 7, 13, 16 and everything is fine and works. The harness was grounding out on the frame. The ABS blinking 7 times I still haven't found a code for but I found that when it blinks 16 times it's telling you that your brakes lights are not working.. Hope this helps someone.
