4 wheel Drive Floor Shifter.

So I was underneath my fairly new to me 77 the other day and noticed that I have a big hole right above the C6. After further investigation it appears that the only thing that covers it at the moment is the shifter boot that controls the 4 wheel hi/low/2 wheel high.

Is there some sort of plastic or metal cover that is suppose to cover this hole on the tranny hump?

I guess this explains why I was hearing so much road noise going down the road!

The road noise is most likely due to the fact that we are driving the aerodynamic equivalent of a concrete block

In case I misunderstood, you do have the metal cover but just the boot is exposed, right? If not you are missing the tunnel cover.
