1976 Ford F-250 What is this truck worth?

I am interested in buying a truck I saw along side the road. The price the seller was asking seems a bit high to me. But I have no idea how to price older classic vehicles so I thought I would ask what some more experienced people think. I have not driven it yet, but assuming it runs well what do you think this is worth? I have included all the information I know about it below:

1976 ford f250 4x4 with a 460 V8 its a high boy, full size bed, automatic, 4/10 gears four speed transmission. Spent life in Alaska, unknown miles. Not original motor. 80000 miles on the 460. Needs some love. Very clean body for its age. Give him my number if he has any questions.

I'd say $2-3k. Looks like a good truck, def not show quality but better than most. Probably not much rust underneath if from Alaska.

I'd get underneath that thing and look for rust. If it has just minor rust or it's rust free I would imagine he won't have any issues getting 3-4k for it.

do you live in a state that has emissions testing on a 1976 vehicle?
if so, a non factory engine could be an issue.........i can see the big radiator, and a power steering pump, both good things......prices vary dramatically be state, what are similar era 4x4 trucks typically selling for? offers should be based on prevailing prices

I'm almost positive federal regulation allows anything older than 96 to be modified however you like. I want to say Cali's number is in the 70s
