Anyone have, or even seen this http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-1979-NOS-FORD-F100-F150-F250-4x4-TRANSFER-CASE-LOCK-LIGHT-BLUE-LAMP-/310842795791?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item485faca70f&vxp=mtr ?
Yep its factory. Usually only found on full-time 4x4 trucks and broncos. My 78 full-time 4x4 bronco has it and still works. It shows you that the differential in the transfer case is locked together when in 4 low lock and 4 high lock.
My 1979 f150 has this light. I assumed it was not full time 4wd because. I have to manually lock in my hubs and select 4h or 4l on the transfer case. I am wrong?

Maybe transfer case was changed? The NP203 has a differential in it while the NP205 does not.
When the NP203 is in low lock or high lock a switch near back of transfer case is energized making the LOCK light come on. Letting you know differential is locked together.
When in just low or high the front and rear axle are able to rotate at different speeds.
That is exactly how it works, hmmmm,
I assumed it was the stock set up. I am happy with it whatever the case may be. I have a good running truck on the street and a beast in 4l when I need it
