My wife's truck. We had a viper alarm system installed about 11 years ago. The fobs are about shot and after pricing new fobs, I figure for a little more I might as well replace the alarm. My question is: Can you set up a Viper or Code system to unlock the driver's door on the first button push and the others on another push? There are three shops in the area that can install alarms and I get different answers from each shop depending on who answers the phone when I call. I have been told it is vehicle specific and due to the way this trucks' locks are wired, it can't be done.
I thought this was how the factory system was set up when we bought the truck, but my memory isn't what it used to be.....
Thanks in advance!
My own somewhat limited experience attempting to integrate aftermarket alarms into a factory system is a lot of work or trouble, pick your own term.
The RKE function probably can't be replicated in an aftermarket alarm as you describe. Honestly though I'd not call so many shops because their scattered answers aren't helpful at all.
