I applied the brakes and I slowed at first but as soon as I let my foot up slightly to reapply, the brake pedal went to floor. The truck did stop but I only had about an inch of pedal travel left. I have no leaks and there was no issue with brakes since owning truck for three months. Master cylinder or power booster? I don't want to go to a garage and spend tons of money. Any ideas in ya'll's experience?
My guess would be the hydroboost system, its connected to your power steering pump. Either one of those I would think. Check the fluid level of the PS pump, also check all the hoses for any signs of leaking. Your description is similar to when my belt broke and had a hard time with the brakes. Also to rule out PS pump, how is the steering. Is there any moaning or groaning while turning the wheel?

Normally I would say master cylinder but with the hydroboost system I don't have any working knowledge. Here's a bump to the top for some answers, hopefully
If the system has never been serviced I would flush with 3 to 4 qts. of Mercon V fluid and add a Magnefine filter on the return line and see if the problem is alleviated. That's the cheapest way to go at this time and the system should be serviced wether Ford says so or not.
