Lost my brakes

Driving to work yesterday my brake pedal went to the floor and thank god no one was in front of me. I can push the pedal down and pull it up with my foot and I will get some pedal for a short time. History; About three weeks ago I replaced the high pressure power steering hose because it had a leak. I know this steering and breaking system work together. Any ideas where to start? Is it possible to introduce air into the break system when doing the power steering line?

Nope, that's not likely to cause this. Your brake system is tied to your steering system if your truck has a diesel engine, but even then the fluids never mix. You could have complete power assist failure and your pedal should not go all the way to the floor.

How is your brake fluid level? Is your brake light in your instrument panel on? If not it sounds like you have a bad master cylinder.

My brake fluid level is full and my brake light is not on. I do have the 6.0. Had this been any other brake system I would have thought master cylinder, but wanted to make sure it wasn't connected to the power boost system before tearing into it.
