Hi guys, once again my '05 Epedition is plaguing me with issues. I was driving this morning and with no warning, the motor revved freely and lost all pulling power in "drive". There has been no slipping or excessive shifting that I have noticed. When I finally got pulled over, put it in 1st then 2nd and it pulled fine but when put in drive, nothing but the motor rev. I was looking for things to try before fully replacing the darn thing which I really don't have the funds for. Thanks for any help!
Yes, it was a little low (about 1/4 quart) so I topped it off with merc v and still nothing over 2nd gear. It just bugs the hell out me because it had never slipped or showed any warning signs of getting ready to quit.
I figured so. I just got back in from changing the filter and fresh fluid thinking possibly the filter could be plugged up but no luck fixing. Looks like I'm in for a rebuild. Thanks for trying to help.
126k, still looked bright red, no dark coloration or burnt smells. Im used to the older C4 & C6 transmissions not these newer electronic ones with sensors all over it. I read that the torque convertor was electronically controlled too soo would it cause it to act like this if it wasn't working right?
