Ok...2000 Chevy Silverado, built up 5.3L, auto, no shift kit.
This may be lengthy, sorry, trying to get all the info across.
I'm very careful about letting my vehicles warm up after starting them, even if they're already at operating temp I'll let 'em sit for about 10 seconds before putting them in gear and going.
I went to leave Blockbuster a couple of weeks ago right after the temps first seriously dropped here, jumped in, started it, immediately put it in gear and drove away. Took me probably 15 seconds to get across the parking lot and pull onto the highway. First gear went normal, in second though it started to get this sort of slip thing going on, the RPM would vary up and down slightly, the power was lacking, it revved abnormally high, then slammed into third gear. And then all was normal.
Didn't do it again until last night I was leaving Walmart, got in, started it, immediately put it in gear. Went to the end of the row, turned and it did it through first gear. As soon as I felt it I put the shifter in "2" and it went smoothly into second. I put it back in "D" and it didn't act up afterwords.
I changed the fluid and haven't been able to make it do it since then. Something with old fluid and the temps dropping? Or do I need to keep a careful eye on it incase something goes wrong?
