Yesterday, in some bad rain, my intermittent wiper switch decided to stop and start (not the way it should), The wipers would swing up, stop for 10-30 seconds, then continue. Wiggling the shaft in the switch helped keep them going more, which tells me the switch needs to be replaced. The interval setting works, its like the switch is kicking on and off so it doesn't tell the governor box/module to move the wipers. The timing intervals/ speed was right, it was just they wouldn't move without hanging up. I replaced the module last year with a known good one, disassembled it and checked all the solder joints, which were good. It did this on the interval settings and high/ low as well.
This pertains to an 87-91, the 92 and newer uses a multifunction switch.
I'd just thought I'd see if any of these brands were good already know motorcraft is good, but just thought I'd check to see if any of these were for a lower price.
my 99 super duty did that to me yesterday. I got the switch off column no trying to find wiring diagram for it.Really not a good thing to happen in a snow storm
