I'm not sure but I think our truck's engine is all metric. I know some English sockets, etc. will work but I would suggest using metric tools on everything. If I am wrong here, someone will chime in and correct me.

Aren't there two in each head? I took a 3/8 diameter drift punch and gave them a good whack before I tried to loosen mine.
If you can't get them out and you're doing injector work, just remove the rearmost injectors first...7 and 8. Let the fluid drain into the back two cylinders.
I'm with Dan. Just pull the back two injectors and let the oil drain there first. No need to pull the plugs. Especially if they're giving you this much trouble.
Ill 3rd leaving the plugs alone.
Pop #7 & #8 1sr... let the oil and fuel pool there... suck it out with a mity vac, shop vac, etc... or hand crank the motor and spew it out like a black geyser... either are less trouble than screwing with plugs unless they are leaking...
