Wheel bearing problems. Need help!

Hey guys so my front wheel bearings were needed replaced. Last Thursday I replaced the passenger not having enough time to replace driver side. On my way home from work the driver side bearing blew so I had it towed and replaced the driver side that night. When my bearing blew on my driver side it ruined my lock out hub so I replaced them. Today driving home from work I noticed a sound coming from my front wheels. It sounds like a bad wheel bearing. I inspected the front end and the seal in the knuckle is sticking out bout a 1/4 in. Could this be the problem? Any advice would be great.

The seal is pressed on the axle and can only be seated so far to the axle shoulder. If the seal it protruding out from the knuckle then maybe your axle shaft has moved. You should be able to see the seal from the back side though.

When you replaced your hub assembly did you make sure you reinstalled the thrust washers and snap ring securely? Also did you install the washer in the correct order? What brand hub assembly did you install?

Sorry I ment from the backside of the knuckle is where the seal is sticking out. It looks like it should be couch with the knuckle. Yes I put the snap ring on with the washers in the correct order round one first followed by the 6 sided one followed by the round washer. I replaced them with timken wheel bearing assemblies and warn lock outs.

Did you torque your hub bolts to 135 lb/ft?

Another symptom I noticed this morning when I let off the accelerator there's instant drag. My truck is lifted with 37s so there's normal drag but this is more than normal. Then when I go to accelerate the truck vibrates for id say 2-3 seconds.

Have you jacked it up and checked the bearings? New does not mean good.

I'm guessing you have 99? There is a difference between E99 and 99 up hubs. They will both work, but the brake rotor needs to match the hubs or the brakes will drag.
