Installing coolant filter... Before or after flush?

I've done "half" a flush on this rig (Restore), the dealer also did some sort of flush last month (but didn't use the vc9 sitting in the back of the truck like I told them too). Had the truck back from them a couple weeks now. I was planning to reflush everything tomorrow but that's off the table till next week now. But I will have time to install the sinister coolant filter that's been sitting on the floor for a couple months now. Would it be best to just install the dang thing now then replace the filter when I get around to doing a proper flush (so it will hopefully catch the crud and not plug up my brand new oil cooler), or wait till the flush when I'll also be switching to the ELC coolant? I guess I'm worried about residual old coolant/new coolant/Restore/vc9 mixing in the filter and causing a problem. Also hate running all the unfiltered silicates thru the cooler for another week.
