I can get a, i believe it's a np205 transfer case for next to nothing. Are these good transfer cases?
I must say this question kinda surprised me, if you have done quite a bit of fabricating of 4wd stuff.....Until you get into hardcore, "money is no object" rockcrawlers or monster trucks, the Np205 is arguably the best readily available gear driven iron case t-case. Your not familiar with this case, really?
Due to circumstances beyond my control I am subscribing only. Next week I get to return to my project as my security system will be fully functional by the 10th. Keep up the good work Colton.
PS. Dave145/Iggybob44 did you know that 1 in 4 climbers that start to climb Mount Kilimangaro don't make it back.
I wasnt aware of that statistic regarding Kilimangaro......Do the guys with 4x4 conversions generally do better than the 2wd drivers? and by the way, its spelled with a J not a G, so perhaps we are speaking of a different mountain?
i could do that but i have no where around where i live to get a frame. i can get the axle and all though. if i find a frame i might just swap over.
Look at the craigslist in your area, I know GA has alot of trucks. And look for a complete 4x4 truck with a rusted body, blown motor or trans, wrecked will work, just NO frame damage. None running makes it cheap
Title is a must, cause the title goes with the truck frame. All depends on how picky your DMV is. What city do you live close to bet I can find one in 10 min.

if i find one and swap over i would like to swap 4-5 speed. does anybody know what motors have the same size bell housing. i want to get away from the c4.
I really think if you do a swap out of a f150 it will be far easier. I am actually starting mine here soon. 1976 2wd to a 1979 4wd. I am just pulling nose, pulling out drivetrain (the reason i bought the 2wd, its for another project), welding temp bars across top of frame to keep it from moving, and un-riveting the crossmember. My 79 f150 has a coil sprung suspension with dual coils and a dana 44. It should really help that I have both full trucks there to have access to any miscellaneous parts I will need.
I really thought the hardest part I would have is the motor mounts. I still think it is doable.
