Nickel Copper Brake Lines

Has anyone use Nickle Copper brake lines? I need to replace my hard lines the Ni-Copper looks like a good choice, easier to bend, flare, and it does not corrode. Price is higher but it should last forever with no corrosion worries.

I am also considering going to Dot 5 silicon brake fluid. Has anyone use the Silicone brake fluid?

The 50 years the first set lasted isn't long enough?

I would buy a set of prebent steel lines and call it good.

I've never used DOT 5, but have been told that if you use it, you can't have any contamination with other types of brake fluid. So if you are replacing all of your components...lines, wheel cylinders, calipers, and master you should be fine. If you not replacing everything I wouldn't use it.

Yep. I use it on my motorcycles, 68' Karman Ghia I had and installed in in my 65' F100 when I changed to disc brakes this summer. It does not give you the same pedal firmness that the hydroscopic glycol fluids do is about the only drawback besides the price.
And yes, you do need to clean out the entire system before using otherwise it makes a nasty mess.

Thank you for the feedback. Does the Dot 5 have a real sqishee feel or just a softer feel. I like the firm feel of the non-power brakes. It reminds me of Porsche brakes. I read some comments about bleeding being an issue.

The master cylinder is being replaces at the same time and I was going to blow the line out with air then flush a pint or 2 of Dot 5 through the system.

The pedal just has a softer feel you will use about another 1/2" to 3/4" of pedal travel to compress the fluid.
I would dismantle your wheel cylinders and flush the brake lines out with brake clean out through the open wheel cylinders.
