4wd to 2wd

Hey everyone I have a 92 f350 with 460. It's an automatic transmission with a Manuel 4wd shift. I can get it into 4wd but have a lot of trouble getting it out. Also the 4x4 light is always on and I know it's out because the front drive shaft isn't spinning so if you guys have any tips or anything that be great. Thanks

When shifting out of 4x into 2x try putting truck in reverse,and backing up a few feet. As for the light, that could be an electrical glitch

yes - if the truck is rolling it will disengage much easier.

Or the transfer case is having problems, you might have to open and see how are the internal forks, do a search on BW 1356 (I'm sorry, it probably isn't this one, but a heavier BW) rebuilds and you'll find out what I'm talking about. Is that case an electric shift or a manual?, the motor could be gone too, also, the ATF level is quite important, it needs 2 qts.
